Yeah! I see your point, it was rather a weak and poorly written scene. While he is still partially poisoned, yet he barely struggled with opposing side though their numbers were more but also dominated an individual that is clearly above him skill wise. Plot armor to the rescue.
Obviously logic dedicates he mows them down to the ground, no sympathies when considering they are the aggressors in this situation.
I’m guessing you didn’t read the novel, it gives you more context. MC is weaker than the 4th blood star since he only reached supermaster recently while the blood star was supermaster already. He only won the exchange by borrowing the power of the blood demon sword. By the end of the exchange, MC was almost out of energy from borrowing that power. The goal of fighting the 4th blood star with the blood demon sword techniques was to stall for 4th elder to recover while “tricking” 4th blood star to thinking MC is the blood demon.
